Sharon's Approach to Therapy

Sharon's approach is collaborative and down-to-earth, blending evidence-based methods with genuine curiosity, warmth, and care. Drawing on extensive training in EMDR, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Play Therapy, Sandplay Therapy, and the Gottman Method for couples, she tailors each session to the unique needs and goals of the individual — focusing not only on helping clients process difficulties but also on building the confidence and skills to move forward with resilience. At the heart of her work is the belief that every person has strengths and capacities waiting to be uncovered; she values ongoing feedback and makes therapy a true partnership.

Sharon's Specialties

Sharon is a Registered Social Worker with a Master of Social Work degree and more than 20 years of experience supporting children, teens, adults, couples, and families. She is passionate about creating a welcoming, non-judgmental space where clients feel safe to share their experiences and uncover new possibilities for growth and healing, with areas of specialization including trauma, anxiety, depression, stress management, ADHD, and relationship challenges.

A Note From Sharon

When children, couples, or families are struggling, everyone is usually trying in their own way. I try to create a space where those efforts can be understood and new possibilities can emerge.

Common Questions

You do not need to be in crisis. Many people come in feeling stuck or sensing something is off, even when life looks fine from the outside. Curiosity is enough to start.
Mostly a conversation. A chance to share what brought you in, what you are hoping for, and what kind of support would feel most helpful. No pressure to have it figured out before you arrive.
Both offer the same quality of care. Virtual therapy can be easier for flexibility, while in-person therapy may feel better if you prefer being in the room together.
It depends on what you are working through. Some people benefit from a few focused sessions. Others prefer longer-term support. There is no fixed timeline. It is shaped around your goals.
Completely normal. A free consultation is available if you'd like to ask a few questions first, but it is optional. You are also welcome to take more time before booking an appointment.
Select insurance plans may be accepted. Ask at booking to confirm whether your plan is covered for therapy appointments.
