Assessment that goes beyond a diagnosis
An assessment is more than a label or a report. Here is what you can expect from ours.
The right assessment
We review your questions, needs and goals before scheduling to help identify the most appropriate assessment.
A comprehensive approach
Our psychologists consider assessment findings alongside personal history, strengths and everyday functioning.
Support beyond the report
We help you understand your results and explore appropriate next steps, including additional supports when needed.
How it works
Our psychologists use evidence-informed assessment methods, standardized measures, and recognized diagnostic criteria, where appropriate. Every assessment follows the same clear path, so you always know what comes next.

Common questions
How do I get started?
Send us a request. Our intake team reviews it with your psychologist and gets in touch to recommend the right assessment, confirm the fee and book your first appointment. Sending a request does not commit you to anything.
Do I need a referral?
No. You can reach out on your own, and many people do.
Can a doctor, therapist or school refer me?
Yes. Professionals can refer through our referral form, or you can reach out yourself. With your consent, we can share your report and recommendations with the person who referred you, so everyone supporting you is working from the same picture.
Who will do my assessment?
A psychologist registered with the College of Alberta Psychologists, as a Registered Psychologist or a Registered Provisional Psychologist. You can meet them in the “Who completes your assessment” section above. Assessments by a Registered Provisional Psychologist are supervised, and every report is reviewed and signed by a Registered Psychologist.
How long does it take?
Most assessments take 3 to 5 appointments. Your written report is usually ready about 3 to 4 weeks after your last testing session, and we go through it with you at a feedback meeting. If you are working toward a school, program or application deadline, tell us in your request so we can plan around it.
Is it covered by insurance?
Some extended health insurance plans provide coverage for psychological assessments. Coverage varies depending on the insurer, the type of assessment, and the provider’s registration. We recommend confirming your assessment coverage and any benefit limits before booking. We provide detailed receipts for your claim.
Will my report be accepted by schools and post-secondary programs?
Your report is written to the standards schools, post-secondary accessibility offices and Alberta Student Aid ask for, including a Registered Psychologist’s signature. Each program makes its own decisions, so include its requirements with your request and we will plan around them.
Will the assessment give me a diagnosis?
Not always, and that depends on the findings. Your report includes diagnostic conclusions where the results support them. Either way, it explains your strengths, what may be behind the difficulties you noticed, and practical recommendations.
Can testing be done online?
Testing happens in person at our Calgary office, where standardized tests can be given the way they were designed. Your feedback meeting can be online.
