Kelsey's Approach to Therapy

Kelsey works from a strengths-based, collaborative approach that helps clients feel at ease and supported without any sense of hierarchy; in other words, she doesn't take herself too seriously and shows up as a real person in the room. She brings curiosity rather than assumptions into each session, taking time to understand each person's story and adapting her work to their needs, pace, and goals. Known for her warm, down-to-earth style, she is also straightforward and honest when something needs to be named. She creates a space where meaningful exploration and lighthearted humour can coexist, working alongside clients as they navigate challenges and build the lives they want.

Kelsey's Specialties

Kelsey is a Registered Clinical Social Worker with a Master's degree in Social Work from the University of British Columbia, Okanagan, and over 12 years of experience in the mental health field. She works with individuals aged 12 and up, with specialized experience in supporting teens and emerging adults. Her areas of practice include anxiety, OCD, mood concerns, trauma responses, somatic symptoms, emotional distress, and eating disorders. Kelsey draws from CBT, DBT-informed skills, Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT), and Emotion Focused Family Therapy (EFFT) to provide evidence-based, practical, and compassionate care.

A Note From Kelsey

I am always interested in the strengths clients have had to develop just to get this far. Therapy can be a place to notice those strengths and build new supports around them.

Common Questions

You do not need to be in crisis. Many people come in feeling stuck or sensing something is off, even when life looks fine from the outside. Curiosity is enough to start.
Mostly a conversation. A chance to share what brought you in, what you are hoping for, and what kind of support would feel most helpful. No pressure to have it figured out before you arrive.
Both offer the same quality of care. Virtual therapy can be easier for flexibility, while in-person therapy may feel better if you prefer being in the room together.
It depends on what you are working through. Some people benefit from a few focused sessions. Others prefer longer-term support. There is no fixed timeline. It is shaped around your goals.
Completely normal. A free consultation is available if you'd like to ask a few questions first, but it is optional. You are also welcome to take more time before booking an appointment.
Select insurance plans may be accepted. Ask at booking to confirm whether your plan is covered for therapy appointments.
