Kartik's Approach to Therapy

Kartik brings a holistic and trauma-informed perspective to his work, recognizing that each person's life is shaped by a wide range of experiences — many outside their control — that influence how they show up today. His approach often involves thinking creatively about treatment, reducing the intensity of symptoms, connecting clients with community resources, and conducting assessments to build a clear understanding of each person's needs. He is especially interested in helping individuals explore their strengths and vulnerabilities to foster resilience, and hopes that we can learn and laugh with each other as we navigate life's challenges and successes.

Kartik's Specialties

Kartik has been a Registered Social Worker for the past 10 years, and he holds a Master of Social Work degree with a clinical specialization. With a background supporting adults experiencing homelessness, poverty, substance use, severe mental health concerns, and complex trauma, Kartik has a strong foundation and interest in supporting people, and their loved ones, who are experiencing schizophrenia and similar concerns. Kartik is interested in getting to know people as a whole and looking at patterns they may or may not be aware of that are negatively impacting their lives. In doing so, he can work with you to come up with tools and techniques tailored to what works best for you. As an immigrant and person who comes from a culture where mental health concerns are minimized, Kartik aims to support people to better understand and explain the challenges they may have been experiencing in a safe environment.

A Note From Kartik

I am interested in the whole picture of a person's life: symptoms, strengths, relationships, resources, and the systems around them. Therapy can make that picture easier to understand and work with.

Common Questions

You do not need to be in crisis. Many people come in feeling stuck or sensing something is off, even when life looks fine from the outside. Curiosity is enough to start.
Mostly a conversation. A chance to share what brought you in, what you are hoping for, and what kind of support would feel most helpful. No pressure to have it figured out before you arrive.
Both offer the same quality of care. Virtual therapy can be easier for flexibility, while in-person therapy may feel better if you prefer being in the room together.
It depends on what you are working through. Some people benefit from a few focused sessions. Others prefer longer-term support. There is no fixed timeline. It is shaped around your goals.
Completely normal. A free consultation is available if you'd like to ask a few questions first, but it is optional. You are also welcome to take more time before booking an appointment.
Select insurance plans may be accepted. Ask at booking to confirm whether your plan is covered for therapy appointments.
